Fachwerk Cottage Description:Fachwerk Cottage courtyard
Located behind the Log House, a delightful, private walkway leads you to the Fachwerk Cottage. The attractive rock porch has wonderful rocking chairs designed for rest and relaxation. The timbers displayed on the walls of the porch were taken from the main house when it was expanded and exhibit the true craftsmanship of our German ancestors.
Cottage parlor and loft

The quaint living room has an inviting charm and warmth. Rough-hewn beams grace the cathedral ceiling. The focal point of the living room is the fireplace with its natural antique wood mantle and rockwork. Perched above the living room is a loft. In the winter a fireside breakfast can be enjoyed from the antique table for four.Cottage bedroom

The guesthouse also contains a small kitchen with microwave and refrigerator. The sofa in the living room folds down to make a queen-size bed.

Log Haus Description:View from Haussegen's kitchen.
An old fashioned picket fence frames the front of the Log House, located within easy walking distance of Fredericksburg's most popular shops and restaurants. Inside, the living room is decorated in wonderful period furniture, with stenciled wood floors and oriental rugs underfoot.
Haussegen's harvest table seats eight.

The two and one-half story house contains three bedrooms and three and one-half baths. One second floor bedroom has two queen-size beds (in the same bedroom), the other a double bed. The third floor bedroom has one queen and one single bed. Haussegen will comfortably sleep nine people. Two baths with showers are found on the second and third floors and the third bath boasts a single Jacuzzi tub.

 Haussegen bedrooms

Downstairs is a full kitchen complete with stove, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, and oven. A large harvest table comfortably seats eight. Other amenities include a telephone, TV, VCR, and stereo with CD player. A large stone fireplace graces the kitchen and another fireplace beckons from the family room. Downstairs offers a half bath

Amick Cottage:
Christian Durst, one of the first German immigrants to arrive in Fredericksburg, built the first of two stone houses for his family on this site in 1846. He harvested limestone from his property to build many of the now historic stone buildings in and around Fredericksburg.

The cottage is authentically restored and includes one bedroom, a full bath with jetted tub, kitchen area with refrigerator and microwave, and a dining area. satellite TV is provided.

Those interested in Early Texas History and German inspired architecture will appreciate the two story stone and frame barn adjacent to the guesthouse.

The cottage is surrounded by live oak covered hills and centuries-old oak trees grace the grounds. This property combines an opportunity for solitude with convenience to all of Fredericksburg's attractions. The property is located just outside the city limits, only a couple of minutes drive to Fredericksburg's historic Main Street.
